Before I upload a new recipe this Friday, I want share with you my cooking must-haves: (in alpha order)

All purpose flour
Apple cider vinegar (Bragg’s)
Butter (one or all of these: dairy, almond, peanut)
Coconut milk
Eggs (cage-free, free-range, drug-free)
Fresh lemon
garlic
ginger root
Honey
Mustard (some sort)
onions
Sea salt
Sunflower oil (organic)
Tomato paste or sauce (something tomato-y)
Veggie Broth
Wheat-free tamari sauce
Xv oo (extra virgin olive oil)

If I have most of these in the pantry plus some veggies, beans or grains, a yummy meal is sure to be had.

Before my budding relationship with food began, I would buy very different items on a regular basis. For example, many many years ago my mom bought Crisco, then as an adult I purchased margarine then graduated to corn oil, and now I am a strictly sunflower or extra virgin oil woman. Sunflower oil is best for cooking with high heat and extra virgin olive oil (xv oo) is more appropriate when there is very little or no cooking at all.

Stay tuned for this Friday’s recipe, I’m making spaghetti carbonara – the green way!
