Coaching my way to great health

Me talking to myself while riding my bike home this evening:

news_coachingmeal2Healthy K:
Ok KalaLea, when you walk in the door, go directly to the kitchen. You must cook tonight!
Lazy K:

Or you can order Mexican or Thai. Besides it’s way too hot to cook.
Healthy K:

Nooo! I spent $70 on food yesterday. It’ll only take a half hour.
Lazy K:

Whatever! I’ve worked hard all day and deserve to just chill.
Healthy K:

La la la! I’m not listening! I’m not listening!

So funny, even as I essentially live and breathe whole foods and healthy living, I’m still having these conversations with myself. I call it Coaching my way to great health™. Although, my level of discipline is much stronger than five years ago, these conversations run through my mind weekly. If you’re thinking, she’s weird, you may be right. But I have a feeling one or two of you can relate.

news_coachingmealIn less than 50 minutes, I prepared the following (see photo):
* gaucamole
* marinated kale salad with herbs
* qunioa with yellow squash, green & red peppers & coconut milk

Plus I cleaned the kitchen i.e. did the dishes and stored the leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch. It was worth every minute.

Healthy K wins again!!
