Freaky Frozen Grapes

On WDIET’s Facebook page, I posted this question:
What does one eat when it’s 98 degrees outdoors?
Baly, a FB fan & friend, responded, Frozen Grapes!

photos_frozen grapes1Having only prepared this yummy treat once, years ago, I was eager to experiment again.

Deep Purple and red grapes are loaded with anti-oxidant warriors (more so than the green or white grapes). These antioxidants are found primarily in the stem, skin, leaf and seeds of grapes, rather than in their pulp. Yes! It’s okay to eat the seeds! Actually I love it when I can find grapes with seeds, a rarity these days. If you’re at risk of heart disease, high blood pressure or elevated LDL (“bad” cholesterol), please introduce yourself to grapes and get to munching.

Freaky Frozen Grapes. Next week, I promise BBQ Lentils.

>> Buy Red Grapes
>> Wash Red Grapes thoroughly
>> Remove the Red Grapes from their stems
>> Place individual Red Grapes in a bowl (or freezer bag)
>> Put bowl in the freezer for 2 – 6 hours
>> Add a bit of food-grade rose water (optional but this is the freaky part)
>> Eat Grapes
>> Smile

Although these images are of green grapes, red grapes freeze better than green because of the teeny bit of alcohol content in red grapes.
