building immunity

by KalaLea on February 25, 2014 • Posted in Blog News Preventative Health Care

God forbid, but just think if you had to have emergency surgery tomorrow, are you strong enough to be under the knife? If you had to run for your life, how far could you go without passing out? Are you equipped for marathon love making, let alone a marathon? Can you watch over a room full of sick children and return home symptom-free?

How well is your immune system functioning this season?

So far I’ve managed

to tell a lie

by KalaLea on December 29, 2013 • Posted in News Practicing Awareness
Imagine a world where people told the truth. Where honesty held court no matter the circumstance or consequence.
Would we be less fragile or more crazy? Would more people be their “true” selves? Un-afraid of ridicule or judgement? Would there be a need for Santa Claus?

Friday night: On the way to see a film, a friend and I passed by the Nolita neighborhood for snacks. While waiting for the food, I sauntered over to the sweets section and picked up a package containing one peanut butter cookie. The name of the brand is called This Chick Bakes. This particular cookie was gluten-free. I asked the owner if she liked their cookies seeing that she was “gluten-intolerant.” (She had mentioned this earlier
